Q Lawns turf takes about a year to grow from the best quality seed into the best quality mature turf. We pay attention to detail before we even order the seed – choosing grass species and varieties that will thrive in a wide range of conditions and still look fantastic. Soil preparation is imperative and then, from the moment the newly germinated seeds push their shoots up towards the east anglian skies, they are nurtured with a careful mowing regime designed to create a beautiful velvety lawn with strong healthy plants.
Before Q Lawns turf leaves the farm it is subjected to rigourous testing to be sure that it complies to the TGA standard for roll strength, plant health and sward purity. Turf at TGA standard is sold as Q Lawn grade and can be used for all but the most specialised applications. Turf that doesn’t make the TGA standard is sold as Contract Rye and although rolls of contract rye may be a little more tender than Q Lawn grade, they will still make a strong lawn. Ideal for paths, amenity areas, verges and school sportsfields.
